Optimizing Retail Ecosystems under Dynamic Adaptation

This project addresses the post-pandemic crisis in urban retail, characterized by high vacancy rates and fragmented decision-making due to the shift to remote/hybrid work. Retail ecosystems are complex, dynamic systems where consumer behavior exhibits strong spatial spillovers, and businesses constantly adapt by synergizing, repelling competition, or relocating. Current static optimization and large-scale central planning are insufficient to manage these interdependencies.
