On March 11, 2026, Professor Yao Wang from NYU Tandon gave a lecture as part of the Distinguished Women in Computing Speaker Series. She spoke about using AI for video streaming and health, highlighting recent research on deep learning for video streaming and health in the NYU Tandon Video Lab. She showcased AI-driven innovations in health applications including work on decoding speech from intracranial neural signals, with the long-term goal of developing neuroprosthetics for individuals with speech impairments. 

NYU Shanghai launches the second edition of its AI Summer Program for High School Students. This two-week, immersive, English-language program introduces students aged 15–18 to the fundamentals and applications of artificial intelligence, taught by leading AI scholars from CSDSE in collaboration with the NYU Shanghai Center for Data Science.

On December 13, 2025, the 2025 CSDSE Senior Capstone Symposium at NYU Shanghai brought together students and faculty for a dynamic showcase of interdisciplinary capstone projects. Across parallel sessions, students presented innovative work in AI, robotics, data science, urban studies, and social impact, addressing real-world challenges through applied research. The symposium concluded with an award ceremony recognizing outstanding projects and student achievement.

NYU Shanghai invites applications for multiple Tenured or Tenure-Track positions in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, and Data Science. The search is open rank, with preference for mid-career faculty. Outstanding candidates at all levels are encouraged to apply. On November 13, CSDSE organized a visit to leading tech company Tencent for over 40 students from multiple majors. Representatives from Tencent gave a comprehensive introduction to the company, including its development history, business lines, products, and organizational structure, and led the group on an interactive guided tour.
